Walk For Wishes At The Oregon Zoo In Portland
The Oregon Zoo in Portland is the perfect setting for Make-A-Wish Oregon's 2020 Walk For Wishes. On Saturday, May 16th, bring your family out to the zoo for a day of family fun and fundraising. The Walk For Wishes is a great way to get some exercise while walking around the zoo and helping Make-A-Wish Oregon grant more wishes.
Registration Details
This year's Walk For Wishes has a fundraising goal of $160,000 and there are several ways you can help Make-A-Wish reach it. First, you can register as an individual walker for $25. Make-A-Wish suggests individuals set an additional fundraising goal of $150. Second, you can register as a team or join an existing team. Teams are encouraged to set a fundraising goal of $1,000. Third, if you can't attend, you can still contribute to other participants' fundraising goals on the event website.
Those who raise more than $50 will earn a commemorative Walk For Wishes t-shirt. Other fun incentives include the chance to earn Alaska Airline tickets, a team trophy and a Top Golf Party for the top corporate team, and other things like a fleece blanket or water bottle. About The Walk
On May 16th, registration and check-in starts at 7 a.m. and the event begins at 8:30am. Participants should come dressed as their favorite hero to help encourage all of the wish kids who are fighting their critical illnesses. Everyone who gets involved is a hero for kids waiting to have their wishes granted.
The walk is an easy 1-mile route that's perfect for families. The route starts and ends within the zoo, meaning that you also get to see all the animals along the way. As an added perk, your registration fee for the walk also includes zoo admission for the remainder of the day.
