Wisconsin Walk For Wishes Events In Appleton And Madison

August 16, 2015

This September, lace up your favorite running shoes and get ready for two great Walk For Wishes events benefiting Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. Don’t miss the Appleton Walk For Wishes event taking place on Sept. 12, and the Madison Walk For Wishes event taking place on Sept. 20. Both events are great forms of exercise for the entire family and they help to celebrate Make-A-Wish Wisconsin!

Walk In Appleton

If you live near Appleton, grab your group of friends, family, or co-workers and head on over to the Thrivent Financial campus for a 5K, one-mile walk or run, and Kid’s Dash. There is no registration fee to attend, but participants are strongly encouraged to fundraise for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. All participants who raise at least $50 in pledges will receive a free Walk For Wishes t-shirt.

The event begins with registration at 8:30 a.m., and the Kids’ Dash for children eight and under will begin at 9:15. The opening ceremonies will be at 9:30 with the start of the run at 9:55. The walk will begin at 10. Post-event festivities will be held at approximately 11 a.m. Register today and learn more about the event here.

Walk In Madison

If you can’t make the Appleton Walk For Wishes event on Sept. 12, you still have an opportunity to Walk For Wishes on Sept. 20 at McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg. The Madison Walk For Wishes event includes a 5K run, two-mile walk, wheelchair race, and kids’ dash. Like the Appleton walk, there is no registration fee to attend but fundraising is strongly encouraged. All walk participants who raise at least $50 in pledges will receive a free Walk For Wishes t-shirt.

Registration will be held at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the walk, with the opening ceremonies beginning at 9:30. The walk, run, and wheelchair race all begin at 10 a.m. with the kids’ dash following at 11. Post-event festivities will be held at 11:30. Don’t miss out on this fun event! Donate Your Car

When you participate in a Walk For Wishes event, you have the opportunity to make wishes come true for kids in your community. Fundraise for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin and help to grant wishes for kids living in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, or Kenosha.

If you can’t attend either Walk For Wishes event, you can still help to make wishes come true for Wisconsin kids battling critical illnesses. Donate a car, truck, boat, motorcycle, or camper and turn your vehicle into a wish for a local child. Wheels For Wishes accepts vehicle donations on behalf of Make-A-Wish, and donors also receive a great tax deduction. Plus, free pick up or towing is also provided!

Donate your car today and make a difference in your community. Simply call 1-855-278-9474 or complete our online vehicle donation form. Both methods only take a moment of your time, but can be just what a child needs to feel hope, strength, and joy once again!
