Walk To Grant Wishes For Tampa Bay Kids
Walking is a great way to get exercise and it’s the perfect way to spend a sunny Tampa day, especially if you’re walking for a good cause. Did you know that simply walking along Curtis Hixon Park could grant the wishes of Tampa-area children who are battling critical illnesses? When you participate in the Tampa Bay Walk for Wishes on April 11, you can help to make wishes come true for Central and Northern Florida kids!
Walkers Of All Fitness Levels Are Invited To Attend
One of the greatest things about the Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes events, aside from the good that they do for local children, is that the events are family-friendly and perfect for people of all ages and fitness levels. The relaxed two-mile course takes you through the gorgeous Curtis Hixon Park in Downtown Tampa and allows participants to enjoy the beauty of the Riverwalk Park on the Hillsborough River.
If you’d like to register for the Tampa Bay Walk for Wishes, you may do so online or at 9 a.m. on the day of the walk. Start a team, join an existing team, register as an individual, a family, or register multiple people at once. Walk however you choose and being fundraising for Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida!
Registration is $20 for children and adults over 8, and children under 8 are free. If you wait to register until April or on the day of the walk, registration increases to $30. Registration on the day of the walk goes from 9-10 a.m. with the Walk for Wishes Opening Ceremony & Countdown going from 10-10:15. The Walk for Wishes event will be held from 10:15 a.m. until noon.
Win Prizes For Fundraising As An Individual
Prizes will be given to the teams and individuals who raise the most amount of funds in honor of the Tampa Bay Walk for Wishes. For individuals who raise between $100-$249, they will receive a 2015 Walk for Wishes t-shirt and a STAR on the Wish Wall. $250-$499 will get you a Make-A-Wish 24oz Gripper Water Bottle, $500-$749 will get you a Make-A-Wish Sweatband & Wristband Set, and $750-$999 will get you a massage gift certificate.
$1,000-$1,499 earns you VIP Status and enters you into the raffle for a chance to win the Walk for Wishes Weekender Getaway. $1,500-$2,499 doubles your chance at winning the Walk for Wishes Weekender Getaway. $2,500-$2,999 earns you beautiful Wish Art and $3,000-$4,999 will earn you a Make-A-Wish t-shirt with your name or logo printed on it. $5,000-$6,999 will name you a Walk for Wishes “Top Donor,” with inclusion in event press releases. $7,000 or more will earn you a title as Wish Sponsor!
Teams Who Fundraise Can Win Big
Teams who fundraise between $500-$1,499 will receive a shout out on Facebook. $3,000-$4,999 will get you a tent at the walk and a Tampa Bay Walk for Wishes t-shirt with your team name included. $5,000-$6,999 will get your name included in the Walk for Wishes press release and at Team Happy Hour at The Columbia. $7,000 more will earn you a title as a Team Wish Sponsor.
The incentives to fundraising for Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida are rewarding for the teams and individuals, but just imagine all that these funds can do for local children waiting to have their wishes granted!

If you’d like to become a Walk for Wishes sponsor, there are still plenty of opportunities left. The Joy Sponsor is $1,000 and includes a private team kickoff, 2 VIP walkers, 2 walker registrations, a social media campaign, signage, and a logo on the Walk for Wishes website.
The Strength Sponsor goes for $3,500 and includes a team tent, a logo on the Walk for Wishes t-shirt, inclusion in the press release and marketing materials, private team kickoff, 2 VIP walkers, 4 walk registrations, the social media campaign, signage, and a logo on the Walk for Wishes website.
The Hope Sponsor goes for $7,000 and includes a team tent, a logo on the Walk for Wishes t-shirt, inclusion in the press release and marketing materials, private team kickoff, 4 VIP walkers, 8 walk registrations, the social media campaign, signage, and a logo on the Walk for Wishes website. Lace Up Your Walking Shoes And Walk For A Great Cause
Walk to grant wishes this April and help to grant the wishes of children living in areas like Orlando, Saint Petersburg, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Lakeland. Even if you can’t attend the Walk for Wishes event, you can still benefit Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida by donating a car to Wheels For Wishes. At no cost to you, your vehicle will be picked up or towed away and auctioned off or recycled to benefit Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida.
