Get your sneakers ready for two fun events benefiting Make-A-Wish Northeast New York in August: Walk For Wishes and the Bobbie Arsenault Memorial 5k. Both events are great ways to get active while helping a great cause in the community.
Walk the morning away and help bring wishes to children in Northeast California and Northern Nevada. The race will take place at the California State Capital on August 13. Registration/check in will begin at 8 a.m. The walk will start at 9 a.m., with a finish line celebration to follow until 11:30 a.m. There is parking available at the Capital Garage located at 10th & L Street. Weekend parking rates are $1.50 each half hour with a maximum charge of $5.

Now in its third year, Make-A-Wish Central New York's Walk on the Wild Side event is taking place at the Wild Animal Park (7261 Lakeport Rd.) in Chittenango on July 29. The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Walk on the Wild Side is a great way to get out and help Make-A-Wish, but it's also the perfect family event for the summer. Kids will love exploring the Wild Animal Park and learning about wild animals.
